2022年7月27日，美国EPA正式发布能源之星Computers Version 8.0 Rev 。此次更新是为了配合EPA最新规定：“使用小于30W外置电源（EPS）的笔记本电脑和平板电脑

在出货时可以不带外置电源”，并对于此规定涉及的测试方法同步增加了Clause 5.1 c 新要求：

Guidance for Implementation of IEC 62623

The Test Conduct shall be carried out according to the requirements in IEC 62623, “Desktop and Notebook Computers – Measurement of Energy Consumption” Edition 1.0, 2012-10 (IEC 62623 Ed. 1.0, 2012-10) reference with the following guidance.

A) Thin Clients and Workstations shall be configured in a manner identical to Desktops (non-integrated) unless otherwise specified. Slates/Tablets shall be configured in a manner identical to Notebooks unless otherwise specified. Portable All-In-One Computers shall be configured in a manner identical to Integrated Desktops unless otherwise specified.

1) Thin Clients shall run intended terminal/remote connection software during all tests.

B) Wake on LAN (WoL) settings shall be in as shipped condition for testing Sleep Mode and Off Mode.

C) Notebooks and Slates/Tablets shall be tested using the external power supply (EPS) shipped with the product. If the UUT is designed with the intention of utilizing an EPS that is 30W or less, but does not include a pre-packaged EPS, then test the UUT as follows:

1) Test the UUT with an EPS sold and recommended by the manufacturer; or,

2) If the manufacturer does not recommend and EPS that it sells, test the UUT with an EPS

recommended by the manufacturer in the manufacturer materials; or,

3) If the manufacturer does not recommend any EPS, test the UUT with an EPS that meets the parameters specified by the UUT manufacturer and minimally complies with the applicable Federal energy conservation standard. The input voltage shall be within ±1 percent of the UUT manufacturer specified voltage.

根据EPA通知，在此版本发布前已通过能源之星认证的产品不受此次更新的影响。同时EPA还表示在未来Computer9.0版本的更新中有可能会增加对于使用大于30W外置电源（EPS）的新规定。
